Casa Limón or Lime house is a 1901 adobe duplex located in the beautiful and historic Barrio Viejo just one block from the main Gem and Mineral show at the Tucson Convention Center and a 10 minute walk to either the heart of downtown or Mercado San Agustin.
The property has been meticulously restored by the proud owner (a graduate of the University of Arizona Architecture Program) to show the layers of history and character that only a true historic home will have (circa 1901) Living room/kitchen walls feature plaster and adobe that is over 100 years old and an exposed wood ceiling from the same time that has a surprise feature.
Every utility was rebuilt from the ground up so the property now has all historic character but with all the modern conveniences. While the home is literally green (That is milk paint on the exterior!) it is also green in the eco sense. The entire home has a separate grey water system that drains directly into the landscaping to water the plants. Every time the shower or air conditioning turns on, the water is reused to water the plants.
